Master of Divinity

NEBC offers two and three years of Master of Divinity (M.Div.), which is accredited by the Asia Theological Association (ATA) since 2021. The Master of Divinity degree program is designed to prepare students for different role in a church, theological training centers, parachurch, mission and marketplace context. It is residential and non-residential course, which is delivered module wise in the class setting and virtual with the use of lecture and PowerPoint, group discussions, group studies and presentations, field visit, weekend ministry exposure in the social context, class exercise, library engagement.

ELIGIBILITY (below to confirm with the requirements)

  • ATA accredited or equivalent B.Th. with ‘B’ grade and above for two years M.Div. programme, and a Bachelor Degree in the rest of the fields for three years M.Div. programme.
  • A candidate with Bachelor degree in non-theological field has to have two to three years of born-again experience and commitment to the Evangelical Faith and Christian ministry.
  • A candidate should be proficient in speaking, reading and writing in English, and basic knowledge of computer skills to work with word, and emailing.
  • A candidate with B.Th. degree is expected to have one year internship or ministry experience after the degree.
  • A candidate with Bachelor degree in non-theological field should have a basic knowledge of the Bible.
  • A candidate has to pass the Common Admission Test on the Basic Bible Knowledge (for a candidate with non-theological degree) and English Proficiency.
  • Three reference letters – one from the sending church pastor, and the other two from the recognized leaders of two other churches or organizations, or a faculty of the last institute.
  • A candidate enrolled at NETS will not be allowed to do any other degree programmes or apply outside the Institution until the day of graduation or termination.
  • The candidate has to apply with the attachment of the photocopies of all the previous degrees and submit the original of the same at the time of admissions.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE (below to confirm with the requirements)

  • Completely filled Application Form should be submitted by July, 2023.
  • The application form should be attached with the following documents:
  • The applicant must pay Rs. 200 non-refundable cost for application procedure.
  • A set of photocopies of all certificates and mark-sheets of the past education.
  • Three recent passport size photographs.
  • Migration/Transfer certificate for the applicants from Institute outside Nepal.
  • Financial Guarantee Letter from concerned person/church/organization.  Medical certificate from a recognised doctor. Photo 2
  • Three reference letters – one from the sending church pastor, and the other two from the recognised leaders of two other churches or organizations, or a faculty of the last institute.
  • Personal testimony of journey with Christ including conversion experience and conviction of call for Christian ministry.
  • No objection letter from the employer if the applicant is engaged in any job or ministry.
  • The Common Admission Test and will be held on July, 2023. A candidate with Bachelor in the non-theological studies will have to appear the Common Admission Test of basic Bible knowledge and English proficiency. A candidate with B.Th. degree has to appear the Common Admission Test of English proficiency. The admission test syllabus would be undergraduate level. Interview will be held on July, 2023.
  • For an applicant who did not secure a ‘B’ grade average in his/her B.Th. will have to write 3 qualifying papers. The qualifying exam will be in three areas – biblical studies, theology and Christian ministry at B.Th. level. Qualifying exams will be on conducted on July, 2023. The pass mark for the qualifying exam is ‘B’. The required bibliography for the qualifying exam will be provided by the Academic office. Those who do not pass in English paper will be required to take one or two weeks of remedial course in English. The candidates must get ‘B’ in the remedial course as well as in the Common Admission Test.
  • Only those candidates who prove themselves competent and fulfil the requirements laid down by NETS will be selected for the enrolment.
