About Nets/NEBC

NETS is registered non-government organization in Nepal Government with the purpose of theological education and skillful development training for the transformation of the different sector of society. NETS known as a NEBC. Considering the growing needs of theologically trained people in Nepal, NEBC was established in 1992 as a wing of National Churches Fellowship of Nepal (NCFN). It was established with a vision and mission to produce spiritual and trained leaders to strengthen the churches, with Rev. Devi Bhujel, an alumnus of Union Biblical Seminary (Pune, India) as the founding principal. From its inception, NEBC has been focusing to provide sound biblical teaching with the emphasis of practical implication. Though there are several Bible colleges and training centres in Nepal, NEBC stands for some specific characteristics with its vision and mission. First, it stands beyond the denominational discrepancies, and accommodates students, faculties, and staffs from all denominations who confess the fundamental beliefs of Christian Faith. Secondly, it is not an individual endeavour, rather a corporate vision to equip men and women of God for the edification of the Church, particularly in Nepal and in general beyond Nepali Diaspora. NEBC was one of the first colleges in Nepal to offer three years B. Th. degree course and to be accredited by Asian Theological Association (ATA). It started with two full-time faculty members and four residential students in a rented house in Lalitpur district in Kathmandu Valley. Further, with the felt need of higher trained leadership development for the Churches of Nepal, NEBC began the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership (MAOL) programme in partnership with DAI in 2009. NEBC also started to offer Master in divinity (M.Div) from 2015 and Diploma of Theology programme (Dip.Th) in Nepali medium from 2019. Similarly, NEBC is also part of the consortium called NTA/AGSTNP which is offering Master in Theology (M.Th.) courses and has been playing a significant role. With four students and two teachers during its inception, the number of students has been growing over the years and presently there are more than sixty students enrolled. The number of faculty members and administrative staffs is also growing. At present we have five well qualified full-time faculty members and five staffs along with a good number of part-time faculty members. Though NEBC have gone through various challenges over the years, yet God has been faithful and gracious to lead us through all circumstances. We praise God for instilling in the hearts of the founding members a need to provide proper theological studies and training in Nepal and for which, to this day their contributions and efforts are seen and continually bearing fruits.
